Gordon Roughan, Managing Director

Gordon Roughan founded Maison Individuelle in 1987 after extending his UK construction business to include a number of high quality new homes in the South of France. After a few years of building under the Maison Individuelle banner, Gordon was approached a by a number of leading developers in the Cote d’Azur and then Alps regions of France to act as both a co-developer and a source of expertise in assisting UK buyers invest in French property. Many of the very first UK buyers in these areas did so with Gordon’s help, advice and guidance, with thousands more doing so since.

Over the years Gordon has worked directly with all of the major developers in the Alps and Cote d’Azur, and his reputation within the property industry and related services (immobilier, notaires, financial institutions, etc) is one of great knowledge, integrity and enthusiasm.

A master carpenter himself, Gordon understands property and construction in way that very few if any other overseas property agents could ever aspire to. His first hand experience of the French property purchase process over the last 21+ years along with his extensive close personal contacts with many leading notaires in the Alps and Cote d’Azur allows Maison Individuelle to provide the best advice and support available to the UK purchaser.

Gordon has been a keen skier all his life, and has skied almost every French Alpine resort over the years, as well as many others around the world. This knowledge and passion for skiing, along with his undoubted credentials in property construction has made Gordon and invaluable resource for countless UK buyers in the French Alps over the years.

Gordon is also a keen sailor, and has a long standing passion for the Cote d’Azur that has fuelled his enthusiasm for the property market in this area over the last few decades. As with the French Alps, Gordon is familiar with every area of the Cote d’Azur and can be an invaluable resource for the UK buyer in selecting the right area and best property for their purposes.

Gordon currently constructs high quality homes in the Hertfordshire area of the UK as founder and managing director of Maison Individuelle’s sister company Netherdown Ltd (www.netherdown.co.uk), and is actively involved in a number of new build constructions in the French Alps and Cote d’Azur. Julie Roughan, Director

Julie has been an integral part of Maison Individuelle since its inception some 21 years ago. Julie has a background in business training, and is instrumental in ensuring that Maison Individuelle employs best practices and adheres to the highest standards of customer care. Together with Gordon, Julie sets the tone for the company ensuring that honesty and integrity are fundamental to all its dealings.



Stephanie Duverger-Smith, French Liaison Officer

Stephanie has been living in the UK for the last 12 years, having been born and raised in northern France. As a native French speaker Stephanie is able to communicate with the French as only another French person can.

Stephanie is a passionate skier and has a very solid customer service background. Stephanie’s role within Maison Individuelle is to liaise directly with developers, immobilier and associated professionals to ensure that all Maison Individuelle clients receive the same standards of service that a native French person would expect to receive.

Stephanie has proven invaluable in resolving countless queries and issues that crop up from time to time for new UK owners in France.
